About the Night
This is a one-night lunar event built around the geometry of an eclipse. We’ll watch Earth’s shadow move across the Moon, use telescopes to examine the changing lunar surface, and talk through why the eclipse looks the way it does from Hawaiʻi.
The Moon will be the anchor, but the evening is also a chance to orient to the surrounding sky and observe other bright targets as conditions allow.
The EclipseFollow the changing boundary of Earth’s shadow across the lunar surface.
Telescope ViewsSee the Moon’s terrain and color changes at much higher contrast and scale.
One Night OnlyA small-group observing event centered on a specific celestial alignment.
