DEEP SKY HAWAIʻI · LUNAR EVENTS

FULL MOON
TOUR

A telescope night built around our nearest world. Instead of fighting the moonlight, we use it—exploring crater systems, bright rays, maria, lunar geology, and other bright targets that hold up beautifully under a full Moon.

About the Night

Full Moon nights have a completely different character from our dark-sky sessions. The Moon becomes the main event, and through a telescope the bright lunar surface turns into a landscape of impact basins, crater rays, mountains, maria, and subtle changes in brightness and texture.

We also use the night to talk about lunar geology, the geometry of the Earth–Moon system, and why the Moon changes the rest of the night sky. When conditions allow, we branch out to planets, bright double stars, and other targets that remain excellent under moonlight.

Lunar GeologyRead the Moon as a landscape shaped by impacts, lava flows, mountains, and billions of years of history.
Telescope ViewsHigh-contrast lunar detail that rewards long, unhurried looks through the eyepiece.
Beyond the MoonPlanets, double stars, and other bright seasonal targets when they are well placed.
